Rockstar has finally revealed the trailer of the upcoming GTA VI. In the trailer, we had a comprehensive look at the world of GTA VI along with what to expect from the gameplay.

The developers confirmed they are looking to push beyond the boundaries and limits with GTA VI’s open-world gameplay. Judging by the trailer, the video game looks set to offer a much bigger and more detailed world than ever before. 

The trailer was an instant hot topic as soon as it was released; amassing over 77 million in the first 24 hours. Here is what we learned from the trailer: 

• GTA VI is Out in 2025

The trailer confirmed that the game will be released in the year 2025. There is no confirmation of the exact date or month. However, some fans have referred to a particular scene in the trailer of a police raid where body cam footage shows 8th August. This has led to the theory that it may be released on 8th August 2025.

• The Trailer was Leaked Early

You must know about the infamous 2022 leaks of GTA VI. But there is very little you can find about it now as Rockstar’s legal team shut down all of the leaks.

The trailer was also leaked hours before it was meant to be released. We can assume the Rockstar team would not be so pleased with that. 

• It is not Coming on PC 

Just as we saw in the case of Red Dead Redemption 2; PC gamers will need to wait to play GTA VI. As per the early reports, the game will feature on the Xbox X/S series and PlayStation 5. There is no mention of a release on PC so far which means the release may follow later. 

• Return to Vice City

After more than two decades, gamers can finally return to Miami-inspired Vice City. As per the trailer, it showcases a fictional world of Vice City but with much more improved graphics and stunning details. 

• The Game Will Feature a Female Protagonist 

As per the rumors, GTA VI will feature a female protagonist named Lucia. This is a welcome change for the franchise due to allegations regarding sexualization and degradation of women. 

The initial impression is that the game will adopt the Bonnie and Clyde style of play. There might be another male protagonist who is going to be the woman’s partner. It also shows a robbery scene reminiscent of the one we saw in Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction. 

• Social Media will be a Big Thing in the Game 

Judging by the trailer, social media might be a big in-game feature. In the trailer, it showed nine mini-scenes of social media posts. 

Social media use could be used to keep the protagonist up to date with the city’s situation, keep you in contact with others, and allow you to witness the consequences of your actions.

It is still unclear as to how much the game would rely on social media but it is likely to play a big role. As we saw in GTA V, the smartphone played a big role in the game, we might see a bigger space around social media this time.
